Some questions answered:

Why is there no waiting list or pre-booking? The program and timetable are finalised after surveying the needs of the current student body. 1-2 months prior to the start of a new term, places are offerred in this order: current students, recent students, mailing list subscribers, general public. How do I enrol in a term course? As soon as you are notified of available places, contact me via phone, text or reply email to request a place in your preferred course. I will confirm you made it in and email you an invoice payable before the course begins. What if I miss a class? If you anticipate being absent for any sessions, please discuss this prior to enrolling. Replacement sessions will not be offerred.
What if I'm unwell? Please stay home and rest if you are not well or suspect a contagious/infectious illness. If a space is available you may be offered a make-up session after your recovery.
How many people are in a class? To allow plenty of elbow room and individual attention, there is a class maximum of 6 for the Taster, 6 for Basics, 5 for Intermediate and 4 for Guided Studio.
Can I gift a casual session? The Clay Date, Wheel Date or a 1:1 session make an insightful and welcomed gift. To request a Gift Certificate simply reply to your purchase confirmation email and a printable PDF will be emailed to you. There is no need to fix a date when purchasing as your recipient will organise their own booking. Gift vouchers remain valid for 2 years. Can I gift a Term Course? This is not advisable without first confirming that your recipient: meets any course prerequisites, and can attend the timetabled session days and times. The booking is not refundable or transferable to another course or term. You may prefer to organise a Gift Certificate for a chosen value. The voucher may be used towards course fees but does not give the recipient priority booking status unless they are a current student. The recipient may also use it towards casual sessions, private tuition, clay purchases, firing services, or hand-crafted pottery direct from the studio. Are there children's classes? Term courses are not designed for participants under 16. Clay/Wheel Dates are a great experience to share with your child/ren. There must be at least one adult attending. You may also request a quote for a casual Family Session. Please note: Wheel work is not recommended for children under 12yrs due to the skeletal stability and core strength needed to operate the Wheel. Do you accept Creative Kids Vouchers? Sorry, these are no longer accepted. Do you need assistance to choose a course? If you have no clay experience, the best place to start is the Taster or the Handbuilding Basics. These will give you a solid start to understanding clay and it's potential. You may however jump straight into a Wheel Basics course and develop an understanding of clay as you go along. Intermediate courses require that you have previously completed at least 2 full terms of Wheel or Handbuilding. The Studio stream requires at least 2 full terms of Intermediate level plus a demonstrated working knowledge of studio health & safety. If you are at all unsure, I'm only a phone call away.
